The national-fire-protection-association is referenced in the 1935-miami-dade-building-code regarding various safety standards. Specifically, Section 1308 mandates that the use, handling, storage, and sale of inflammable liquids in residential-and-accessory-occupancy-requirements (Group H buildings) must comply with the “suggested ordinance regulating the Use, Handling, Storage and Sale of Inflammable Liquids and the Products Thereof,” adopted by the National Fire Protection Association in May 1926, along with its subsequent amendments 1935-Miami-Dade-Building-Code_p65_84(p. 76). This distinguishes it from the national-board-of-fire-underwriters, whose 1930 ordinance is cited for other occupancy groups.
Additionally, the 1935 code cites the National Fire Protection Association’s Edition of 1928 (and subsequent amendments) for the construction and installation of oil burning equipment and the storage and uses of oil fuels 1935-Miami-Dade-Building-Code_p265_284(p. 266). The association’s Edition of July 15, 1931 (and subsequent amendments) is referenced for the storage and handling of photographic and X-ray nitrocellulose films 1935-Miami-Dade-Building-Code_p265_284(p. 276).
