According to 1935-Miami-Dade-Building-Code_p325_344, the area known as the “Amended Plat of Flagler Park” was included in the expansion of fire-zones Number I via Ordinance No. 2471 (1941) (p. 343). This inclusion was part of a broader effort to prevent the erection of new frame structures in specific downtown and surrounding areas to reduce fire danger. The ordinance boundary runs along the west lines of Lots 10 and 9 of Block 10 of the Amended Plat of Flagler Park (p. 343).
