Grand Avenue is a significant thoroughfare in Miami, referenced in the 1935-miami-dade-building-code to define the boundaries of Fire Zone No. 1 fire-zones.
According to the code, the fire zone boundary runs along the center line of an alley in Block 1 of the William A. Rice Subdivision, through Blocks 1 and 2 of the same subdivision, and through Block 14 of Pent Homestead (p. 101). The boundary continues through the center line of Block 2 of the Charles H. Frow Subdivision and Blocks 21-25 of Frow Homestead Amended, reaching the City Limits (p. 101).
The description further details the boundary running south and west along the City Limits line to the East line of Block 4, Golden Gate South, then east through St. Albans Park Subdivision and Frow Homestead Amended (p. 101). The boundary follows the South line of Lot 28, Block 28, and Lots 24 to 4 of Block 28, then south along the West line of Lots 3-42 and 47 of De Hedouville Subdivision (p. 101). It proceeds through Block 29 and Lot 24, Block 30 of Frow Homestead Amended, and Lot 3, Block 1 of The Royal Gardens (p. 101).
The boundary continues south along the West line of Lot 3, Roberts Subdivision, across Main Highway to a point in Lot 13 of Monroe’s Plat, 150’ South of the South line of Main Highway (p. 101). From there, it runs northeasterly parallel with Main Highway along the South lines of Lots 59 to 54 in Blocks 11 and 6 to 1 of Treasure Beach (p. 101). It continues parallel with Main Highway through Monroe’s Plat and C. & I. Peacocks Amended, reaching the Northeast corner of Lot 4, Charles John Peacock Corrected Subdivision (p. 101).
The boundary then goes south along the West and South lines of said Lot and Lot 7, then west parallel with and 150’ from the South line of Grand Avenue (p. 101). It follows the South line of Lot 10, McDonalds Plat, and Lot 10, Lamoreaus Subdivision, to Del Monte Road (p. 101). Finally, it runs northwesterly along Del Monte Road along the East lines of Lots 7-6 and 5 of said subdivision, then west along the North line of Lot 5 to the point of beginning (p. 101).
